Five Favorites (Vol. 1)

Welcome to another attempt at my return to blogging! Today I am joining Hallie et al for Five Favorites - make sure you click the link and enjoy the positivity!

1. Naptime

Please note the Winnie-the-Pooh blanket that I am forcing my poor baby to bond with

Naptime is always a complete hit or miss with Leo. Some days he sleeps like an absolute champ and I don't even know what to do with all the time that I have on my hands! Well, ok, I know what to do with the time on my hands but choose to ignore it and lounge around the apartment indulging in sheer laziness. It is superb. Yesterday was a "I Will Only Nap in Mommy's Arms" kind of day. Today is a "I Will Nap Long Enough for Mommy to Go to Kohl's, Return, Drink Coffee, and Blog" kind of day.

2. Kohl's

....should read "expect moderately good things"

I never get good deals at Kohl's. Maybe I'm the wrong size or just too picky but there it is. This is a different story for baby clothing, however, and thanks to a few gift cards I was able to pick up some last minute clothing for kiddo before our epic trip to Virginia!

3. House Hunting

What is this, a house for ants?!?!

I don't know if this is actually a "favorite" thing. Perhaps "necessary evil" would be a better label. Either way, tomorrow afternoon we are going to be packing up and hitting the road to go house hunting in Virginia. The trip will be divided into two portions (because we are not entirely insane) and will include a night with my family on the way there and and on our way back. This will be my first time really seeing Front Royal and the Shenandoah Valley so I am looking forward to it and getting a chance to see (hopefully) what our future home will look like. The hours in the car..... not so much.

4. Disposable Diapers

About what we go through on a daily basis. Give or a take.
I am so grateful for disposable diapers! I have heard all of the wonderful arguments for cloth diapers and know people who do it, but with the blow-outs that this child has been having lately there is something wonderfully cathartic about throwing those things into the trash! That being said, I find myself wondering if we are just buying the wrong brand. Is there a brand out there that can withstand epic poops? I mean, actually contain them? If there is please leave a comment below to let me know what it is and where I can buy it!

5. Leo's Smiles

"Mommy thinks she's going to sleep tonight"
Sadly this is the only photo I personally have of Leo smiling and it is a little outdated. Kiddo has now reached the point where he smiles while awake and, what is way better, in response to Ben and me! I don't know if there is anything better than when your own child smiles at you. The worst night or day imaginable can be transformed in a millisecond by those smiles and I cherish each and every one of them!

What I Wore Sunday (Vol. 9)

At last, a Sunday in which I can join all the wonderful peeps over at Fine Linen and Purple for What I Wore Sunday! The past several weeks have been filled with a sort of despair regarding post partum outfits, particularly with regards to Church-wear. Thanks to my incredible, amazing, self-sacrificing husband I was able to run out yesterday and buy a few items that managed to be both nursing friendly and appropriate for mass! Kiddo had a rough go of things before we left for mass but by the time we packed him into the carseat he was fast asleep and remained so until we returned - it was glorious!

Without any further ado.....

Multi-Use Pants : Good for mass or parachuting!

The Mighty Adventurer

Details....

Pants : Gap (I'm between sizes so I had to go with the larger one and since I am incapable of sewing or mending and such things I have to accept the fact that I am awash in a flood of fabric. It's a shame that it doesn't have a slimming effects but rather results in the opposite. Stupid disproportionate body)

Shirt : Target

Sweater : Target

Shoes : Target

Earrings : Target (just kidding - they're from Amazon. yes, I realize now that this was not funny)
