WIWS (Vol. I Lost Track)

Yesterday marked the first successful French Braid of my life. I can hear your applause from here - thank you, thank you. Did I take any pictures? No, of course not. Was I able to replicate it for mass today when it would have been more fitting? No way! Ah well, there's always next time...

We were treated by a yet another wonderful homily today (Ben says one of the top four he's ever heard) and Leo fell asleep almost immediately so despite the grim weather it's been a great day! Here's hoping you are enjoying your Sunday too :)

You can almost taste the mischief

Weirdest leg pose ever
Deeeeetails

Jacket : Charlotte Russe
Shirt : TJ Maxx
Khakis : Thrift
Shoes : Zappos (?)

I need to figure out what to do with those khakis because the color is my favorite but the fit through the legs is too loose and has a frumpy effect. If I had mad skills like my sister-in-law I would just take them in or hem them or do something smart. As it is, I can barely thread a needle (much less use one). Ideas?

~ Happy Sunday ~

  1. Khakis are the best. I don't think I have a pair, so I will definitely need to remedy that with all this cold weather we will be getting. It is always a good sunday when you can sit in the pew and listen to the homily. I had the pleasure of practicing the steps in the cry room with my little guy during the homily :).

    1. I hear ya! I'd say that we are walking the foyer 75% of the time (best case scenario).

  2. I love the cut of those pants. And Leo is too cute- I love the chubby grin!

    1. He was being an absolute wiggle worm and cracking me up so Ben caught a few candids. I love his chunky cheeks and grins :)

  3. LOVE the pants! I have minimal skilz with sewing, but I could hem thm for you if need be. I've never tried taking in tailored pants at the waist (I've only ever made drawstring pj pants), but the hemming would be easy. And there's always a belt... ;D

    1. Save me from belts!!! ;) Funny thing is that the pants fit perfectly in the waist/seat - it's the legs that are super loose and baggy. They're chinos so perhaps that's the style but I am not convicted that its flattering for my figure.

  4. You look great, Hannah! Glad you're liking the homilies. . . . Fr. F tends to recycle them so you'll probably hear them several times in the coming years. ;-)

    1. Thank you! And we've heard that about Fr F... With the way most Sundays go I figure we won't have heard all of them the whole way through for a few years at least ;)

  5. I think I've only successfully mastered a French braid once in my life... I really need to learn, with 3 girls so far! But they grow hair so slowly that I think I've got time :P

How much do the pants stretch? Maybe you and Beth could have a baby party and try taking them in at the leg seams to make them a skinnier silhouette? If you have a pair of pants that fits you well, you can use them as an outline. But I'm a SERIOUS sewing novice so I could be wrong!

  6. Love the pants especially. That green color is unique enough for pants that it really stands out, in a good way. Thanks for linking up! -Kendra
